  • 1 M2 2230 slot E-key (M.2 slot supports PCIe Gen.3)

Digital I/O

The UP^2 has three connector for gpio/peripherals:

  • m10 header
  • hat connector: pin compatible with Raspberry Pi Pin position
  • mcu connector: extra gpio/peripheral from the integrated STM32F103C8 MCU

M10 header

the M10 header has one uart (max 3Mbaud) and one usb 2.0 port available through an adapter cable

http://up-shop.org/up-peripherals/110-usb-20-pin-header-cable.html (only one of the two ports of the adapter can work with UP Xtreme)

2 x M5 header

  • 2x Fintech F81801 RS232/422/485

Docking Connector (100pin)

  • 12V, GND
  • 3xPCIe x1
  • 2x PCIe x1 or USB3.0
  • 2xUSB2.0

HAT Connector

each of the HAT pins have a dual function, a standard gpio in/out mode and a function mode. on the board start all the pin are set in function mode by default but that can be changed within the bios menu see 40-pin multi-function I/O header

  • 28 GPIO-capable pins
  • 2 I2C ports:
    • mode supported Standard, Fast, Fast Plus, High Speed)
  • SPI0:
    • max speed 25MHZ
    • 2 Chip enable
    • supported modes 0 and 2
  • SPI1:
    • max speed 25MHZ
    • 3 Chip enable
    • supported modes 0 and 2
  • uart1
    • max baudrate 3Mbaud
    • hardware flow control
  • 3 PWM output (not currently supported due to limitation on Intel PWM driver for WHL-U SoC)
  • 1 i2s port (not currently supported due to lack of I2S drivers from Intel for WHL-U SoC)

MCU connector

Programmable I/O managed by a STM32F103C8 MCU.

  • 40 pin with 3.3V, 5V, GND, programming pins (for STLink Programmer) and multifunction I/O (GPIO, PWM, I2C, ADC, CAN, I2S, UART, SPI)
